~ SCHEDULE ~

CHURCH SERVICES

Saturday Supper – 6 PM in the social hall - a pot-luck supper with prayers, songs, and an informal, thoughtful conversation about a spiritual reading. Supervised play for children. ** Currently postponed due to Coronavirus.

Sunday Worship – 9 AM in the sanctuary – an informal worship service with hymns and contemporary songs, Biblical and relevant sermons, a time to share the joys and concerns of our lives and to pray together. The children begin in worship with their parents and then go to Sunday school with their teacher.

Sunday's Table – 10 AM in the church yard – a gathering of neighbors and friends who need to supplement their food supplies with food from Trader Joe's, Yolo Food Bank, and local farms. Everyone is welcome to be a helper and be helped. As we line-up around the table we take hands and say a short prayer of thanks in English and Spanish, aiming to nurture both body and spirit.

HALLOWEEN PARTY
On a Saturday in late October we host a Halloween Party and Movie for the community. We gather in late afternoon for pumpkin carving and traditional games, then move inside for hot dogs, popcorn and a not-too-scary movie.
All children and children-at-heart welcome!

COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING CELEBRATION
For many years we have hosted this Thanksgiving Celebration usually on the Sunday evening before Thanksgiving. Every church and community group is invited to plan and to have part. We include spiritual and secular readings and songs to express our gratitude together. It's a special time and afterward we enjoy a community potluck.

CHRISTMAS EVE CANDLELIGHT SERVICE
Every December 24th friends and neighbors are invited to come sing carols, join in Christmas readings and prayers, enjoy the children's pageant, and see the candlelight grow throughout the darkened sanctuary as we sing "Silent Night" together. Everyone always welcome!

ALMOND FESTIVAL
The Almond Festival has been the first sign of spring for about 100 years and draws people from all over northern California. People come to see the beautiful orchards in bloom up and down the valley. The community of Esparto comes together to host a car show, live music, great food, arts and crafts and small vendors. At our church we have a "Country Store" with handmade quilts, vintage and rummage treasures, baked and canned goods, almond roca candy, and free coffee.

MOVIE IN THE PARK
Partnering with other community friends, we invite all the families in Madison, Esparto and up the valley to come to Esparto Community Park for the free movies, popcorn and drinks. Families spread out on blankets and lawn chairs as the sun sets -- it's a great way to get together on a summer evening.
